He was a 1968 graduate of Gettysburg High School. George worked as a truck driver for several companies, Lee Metals, Inland Container, R. F. Truesdale, and most recently for Harley-Davidson Corp., where he was employed for twenty-three years, retiring in 2009. From a very young age, he worked on the family farm and learned a strong work ethic that he possessed for the rest of his life. He never shied away from hard work. In 1977, he traveled with the Bethel Mennonite Church to assist the victims of the terrible flood that occurred in Johnstown, PA. George loved hosting family picnics and get-togethers for his family; he loved making homemade ice cream and surrounding himself with family and friends. He was so proud of the fact that his two sons were the first members of his family to graduate from college. George perfected landscaping at his home, mowing with perfectly straight lines in the yard, and in his spare time, enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Craig M. Williams and his husband Todd Bandauski of Carmel, IN and Jeffrey A. Williams and his wife Tia of Gettysburg, two grandsons, Zachary Williams and Logan Bandauski, sister, Velda Sease of Shippensburg, PA and a number of nieces, nephews, and in-laws. George was predeceased by five siblings, Roy Williams, Ray Williams, Merle Williams, Susan Reid, and Lauren Williams.

The family will receive friends at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025. A private graveside service and interment with Rev. Garry Scheaffer, officiating, will take place at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
