Obituary: Harold E. Weaver



Harold E. Weaver, 83, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at UPMC Hanover Hospital.

He was born January 28, 1941, in Gettysburg, PA, the son of the late Elmer and Irene Geigley Weaver. Harold is survived by his wife, Helen Patterson Weaver.

Mr. Weaver was a veteran of the US Army serving in Berlin as the Berlin Wall was being built and where he learned how to become a professional truck driver. He drove tour buses for Capital Trailways and Rohrer Bus Lines. He drove 19 ½ years for Frock Brothers Trucking out of New Oxford, PA. He most recently drove for Choice Family Pharmacy in McSherrystown, PA, delivering medications and medical equipment and supplies to individual homes and medical facilities all over the South-Central PA region. Harold enjoyed word puzzle search books, Western books and John Wayne. In his younger days he liked to hunt and attend races at Lincoln Speedway and Hunterstown Go-Cart track.

In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by two sons: Kenneth Weaver and his wife Lori of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Timothy Weaver of Gettysburg, PA; four grandchildren: Scott and Kristen Weaver, Hallie and Hannah Weaver; four great grandchildren: Rylee and Nessa Weaver, Cash and Codi Schaber; three sisters: Dorothy Sensenig of Hardinsburg, KY, Susan Sensenig and her husband Glenn of Ephrata, PA, Mary Jane Good and her husband Aaron of Myerstown, PA. He was predeceased by sisters; Elvan Jean Weaver, Mildred McDonald and Wilma Kunkle and a brother-in-law, John Sensenig.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, PA, with his nephew Rev. Timothy Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
