Obituary: Imogene Hunt

Imogene Hunt passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at York Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

She was born March 28, 1948, in South Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Samuel J. and Dorothea Owsley.

She graduated from South Milwaukee High School and briefly attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College.

She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Hunt, whom she married on December 3, 1966; her daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Hunt (born February 18, 1971) of New Platz, NY; her sister Dorothy Corrine Eisenbraun, of Frenchburg, KY; her sister Carolyn Owsley of Monroe, NC; and her brother David Owsley of South Milwaukee, WI.

She was an enthusiastic doll collector and true believer in Bigfoot. She was a passionate, curious, creative, and generous person. Her talent for making and giving gifts was unrivaled, leaving behind precious memories to be cherished. Her child-like, playful spirit will be greatly missed.

She was a dedicated member of Gettysburg United Methodist Church, singing for many years in the church choir.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Gettysburg United Methodist Church, 30 West High St., Gettysburg, PA.
