Born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on September 9, 1943, Jim was a cherished husband, father and Pappy. Jim and his wife Mary shared 59 years of marriage. Together they provided transportation for the Gettysburg School District, a business they continued from his parents Fred and Viola Green. Jim also logged with his family business Greenwood Products, ran J&W Logging with his son Willie, and volunteered with the Greenmount Community Volunteer Fire Department Station 23, in which he served as the fire chief for 10 years.

Jim had an unprecedented love for his family. He never hesitated to mention how proud he was of his four children, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. They will continue to keep his spirit alive through the many reminiscent stories he loved to share.

To know Jim was to know he loved his Fords! Tractors, trucks, buses….if it had a Ford emblem, he approved! He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and made no excuses for his viewpoints on politics.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughter Miss and Dave of Gettysburg, son Willie and Anne Marie of Littlestown, daughter Jeanne and Jamie of Gettysburg, granddaughter Megan and Chad of Gettysburg, grandson D.J. of Gettysburg, granddaughter Morgan and Chris of Bozeman, Montana, granddaughter Brooke and Tjay of Hanover, granddaughter Erika and Tyler of Liberty, granddaughter Madison of Littlestown, grandson Connor of Littlestown, and his little “great” joys Anley, Isaiah, Zander, Everly, Waylon, and Elijah.

Jim is survived by his sister Virgina of Gettysburg, and predeceased by his daughter Beth, brothers Robert and Harold, and sister Thelma.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 11AM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. A visitation will precede the service beginning at 9AM where the family will receive friends until the time of the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Mount Joy Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made in his name to the Greenmount Community VFD Station 23, 3095 Emmitsburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
