Jeffrey L. Fickes, 69, of Gettysburg, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg, PA.

He was born October 5, 1956, in Gettysburg, the son of the late Nelson and Anna Warren Fickes of Fairfield.

Jeffrey was a veteran of the US Navy who worked as an airplane mechanic, but for most of his career he was employed by Eicholtz Business Supply Company in New Oxford, PA. Jeff was known for his smile and a salute with each visit, and he enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with friends and family.

He was predeceased by his son Ryan Fickes, brothers Kermit and Chester Fickes, and sisters Vonnie Monterroso and Roselyn Shreve. Jeff is survived by Dennis Fickes and his wife Geneva of Waynesboro, Eugene Fickes of Orrtanna, and Michael Fickes. Jeff also has grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Fairfield Union Cemetery on August 1, 2026, at 10 a.m.
