Obituary: Jerry LaRue

Jerry LaRue, 83, died peacefully on September 27, 2026. Born December 12, 1942, he graduated with the last class of York Springs High School in 1960. LaRue was self-employed and served in the U.S. Coast Guard as part of a search-and-rescue team. He enjoyed dirt-bike riding and motocross racing, as well as time at the beach, and shared these interests with his children and grandchildren.

His wife, Judi, was his partner for 63 years. Survivors include son Erik LaRue of Crystal River, Florida; daughter Jerri Rider and her husband, Chris, of Biglerville; grandchildren Ryan Redding and his wife, Shawna, of Hanover, and Shane Redding of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren Zephyr and Story Redding; and sister Sonya Freeburn of York Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Jerry and Stella Mae LaRue, and brothers Larry and Victor.
