Joan Florence Stitz, aged 91, passed away at home on May 21, 2026, in East Berlin, PA. Born on August 11, 1934, Joan dedicated much of her life to her family , leaving a lasting impact through her warmth and dedication.

Joan was a homemaker for 25 years in Howard County, MD, before she found a fulfilling role at the East Berlin Library, where she worked until her retirement. Her commitment to her family and her career was evident in everything she did, always providing a welcoming and loving environment for those around her.

A lifelong member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Joan’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others. She awaites the paradise spoken of at Rev. 21: 1-5.

Known for her ever-present smile, Joan had a passion for crocheting, a hobby that not only brought her joy but also warmth to her family and friends through the beautiful pieces she created.

Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her six children and ten grandchildren. Joan’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, as she was a beacon of joy and kindness in their lives. Joan donated her body to science.
