John C. Dick, Jr., 75, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully at Genesis South York, dementia unit, Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret W. (O’Dell) Dick, whom he remarried on June 25, 2014, in Ft Lauderdale, FL, on the beach.
He was born September 11, 1950, in Gettysburg, PA, to the late John C. Dick, Sr., and Audrey K. (Dunkinson) Dick Rudisill.
Mr. Dick retired after 25-plus years from Pest Control and was often referred to as The Bugman. He had many skills, from automotive repairs, truck driver, to running a textile manufacturing plant. He enjoyed reading history books, especially about the Civil War, riding his motorcycle, deer hunting, and teaching his sons and grandsons to hunt. He loved the outdoors, mowing the lawn, relaxing, and watching the grandkids swim in the pool. He will be missed.
John is survived by his four children, John C. Dick and his wife Valerie, of Westminster, MD, Shilo Ann Jacoby and her husband Robert, of Hanover, PA, Nila Rebong and her husband Karlo, of Staten Island, NY, Joseph C. Dick and his wife Lorie, of Gettysburg, PA, his brother, David L. Dick and his wife Lisa, of Fairfield, PA, his sister, Linda Diane Jindra, of Gettysburg, PA, his half-sister, Lori Lagares, of Wichita, KS, four step-brothers, James Rudisill, William Rudisill, Timothy Rudisill, Brian Rudisill, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nila Christine Pritt, and a brother, William R. Dick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
