Joseph W. Peters, 75, of Biglerville, PA died Thursday afternoon, February 6, 2025 at the Gettysburg Hospital.Born August 13, 1949 in Thurmont, MD he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Clabaugh) Peters. He was the husband of Ann M. (Shriner) Peters, of Biglerville, to whom he was married to for 24 years.Mr. Peters worked as a research development engineer at Landis Tool in Waynesboro and then retiring after 40 years from Schindler Elevator in Gettysburg. He enjoyed golfing, his Corvettes and especially his time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by two children, Steven M. Black and his wife Andrea, Ryan M. Black and his wife Jessica, three grandchildren, Taylor Black, Peyton Black, Preston Black, all of Biglerville, PA, five siblings, Virginia Harbaugh, of Cascade, MD, Gloria Mumpower, of Waynesboro, PA, Nancy Bankard, of Thurmont, MD, David Peters, of Emmitsburg, MD, Penny Stup, of Clearville, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Beard.Funeral services for Joe will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.
