Obituary: Josephine Ellen “JoEllen” Hueglin

Josephine Ellen “JoEllen” Hueglin passed away peacefully after a very brief and brave battle with ALS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She was tiny but mighty, fierce, and loyal. She lived a life showing others kindness and compassion, and touched many lives in her volunteer work. She was a regular volunteer at her girls’ schools when they were growing up, and her spirit of volunteerism was present as a religious education teacher, Girl Scout leader, and member of Girl Scout Council on Long Island.

When she had grandchildren, they were the light of her life. She served in the Friendly group at St Aloysius Church in her retirement and was a member of the Littlestown Gardening club. She was an amazing cook and baker. She loved the fun and quirky things in life and was an all-around incredible human.
