Judith Florence (McManus) Utz, 82, of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born on April 7, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late David P. and Evelyn M. (Wilhelm) McManus. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Uriel Paul Utz, and her sister, Patricia C. Tidman.

Judy was most fulfilled by her time spent raising the family’s four children. As the children grew older, Judy went to work to fill her time, most notably as a cafeteria aid at East Middle School in Westminster, Maryland, and later as a switchboard operator at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Judy enjoyed gardening, baking, playing Scrabble, taking care of her dogs, Sadie and Missy, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children – daughter Brenda L. Sherwood of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa, son Mark A. and Joy Lynn Utz of Rocky Point, NC, son D. Scott and Dawn M. Utz of Littlestown, Pa, and daughter Jennifer L. and Jenna Aubert-Utz of Leonardtown, Md. as well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Visiting Angels of Gettysburg, her primary caregivers, Darlene and Melanie, the support team from Heartland Hospice, and her wonderful neighbors, Doc Jim and Mary Lou Hammett. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support the Maryland Troopers Association, Fairfield Fire and EMS, or the ASPCA.
