June K. Garretson passed away on Friday, January 19th with her loving family by her side. Born in Franklin Township Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of Floyd J. Kump and Bessie Sharrah Kump. She graduated from Gettysburg High School in the class of 1947. Upon graduation, she worked for Columbia Gas from 1947-1954 after which she and her husband Gerald T. Garretson created Garretson Tile Company.
June is survived by her daughter Melissa Garretson Delmonego, her son-in-law Brian J. DelMonego, and her grandson Adam J. DelMonego, her sister Marilyn Aust of Mechanicsburg, PA, and four nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Joel F. Garretson who passed away in 1982, her husband, Gerald T. Garretson, and her brother, Ronald F. Kump of Fairfield, PA.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Womenâs Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed the game of golf, played bridge, was actively involved in the Garden Club, and participated in Meals on Wheels. Most importantly, she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved life and her incredible smile, love and warmth inspired not only her family, but all those around her. She created many wonderful friendships and enjoyed a long and fulfilling life.
A celebration of life service will take place at St. James Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at The Pointe Pub at the Federal Pointe Inn, 75 Springs Ave, Gettysburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
