Larry George Miller, 86, of Westminster, Maryland, lovingly known as Dad, Pop, Pappy and Mutt, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, April 27, 2025, after a brief illness.

Larry met the love of his life, Theresa Irene Miller at the Rainbow Roller Rink in Taneytown, Maryland. They both enjoyed telling people that they were Millers’ before they were married, so Theresa never had to change her name. They were married for 57 years until her passing in 2020. It brings much comfort knowing they are together again.

Larry is survived by his two children: daughter, Laurie Ann (Miller) Poore and her husband Patrick of Manchester, Maryland, and son, Timothy Lee Miller and his wife Michelle also of Manchester. And a special niece who was like a second daughter to him, Jeanie (Miller) Cole and her husband George of Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren: Ashleigh (Poore) Bis and husband Jared (J.D.), Ryan Poore and wife Molly, Brennen Miller and Kaylin Miller. Great Grandsons: Peyton and Jameson Poore and Daxton Bis. Plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by. Three brothers: Walter “Junior” Miller Jr., Roy “Sonny” Miller, and Robert F Miller and five sisters: Shirley Warehime, Linda Knight, Gloria Kontz, Patricia Crandell and Nancy Horick.

During Larry’s younger years, he worked at Pleasant Valley Shoe Factory and then at Kessler Shoe Factory in Westminster alongside his late wife, Theresa, for many years before taking a job at Good Year Retread Plant in Westminster. Later, he worked as a machinist for over 20 years with Dyna-Therm Corp in Hunt Valley, MD which later became ATK Space Systems and relocated to Beltsville. He made that long work commute until he retired at the age of 70.

Besides Larry’s love for his family, he had two other great passions – bowling and fishing. In his younger days, he bowled in a league with his brothers, Walt and Bob, at Westminster Lanes until it closed. And up until recently, he was still bowling 3-4 times a week at Greenmount Bowl. He also spent many weekends fishing on the river with his wife and family over the years. After he and his son purchased their boat, they enjoyed lots of special time together Bay fishing.

While Larry may be gone, he will live on in our hearts. He will be missed by many and remembered as a sweet, generous, loving, strong-willed person who was a die-hard Ravens fan, great at yodeling, and always made something delicious for the family reunions.

Family and friends will gather to remember and share memories on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at Little’s Funeral Home, 34 Maple Avenue, Littlestown. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10 AM (with visitation starting at 9 AM). Burial will follow at Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown, PA.
