Obituary: Lillian Francis Truesdale

Lillian was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, mentor, and friend. She passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. A lifelong Christian with an unwavering faith and dedication to reading and learning the bible. Born in Pennsylvania on June 14, 1945, Lillian grew up with an insatiable curiosity and a deep love for reading, music, gardening, and above all, her family. Her work ethics and core values were second to none.

Lillian was the second eldest of four siblings. Her parents, Dorothy and John Stage, nurtured her curiosity, encouraging her to pursue her goals. Lillian graduated from North East High School and was well thought of and known for her honesty and constant kindness to others. She was known for her love for Elvis Presley from as far back as her teen years, listening to his music in the kitchen with her mother on their farm. Lillian enjoyed collecting angels and teddy bears, and loved yellow roses, hummingbirds, flower gardens, beaches, coffee, and long conversations on or off the phone. She loved her friends and family fiercely.

Lillian dedicated her working years to Better Baked Foods until she retired, celebrating with her friends and reminiscing about the good times because there’s always something good to reflect on as she would often remind us.

Lillian had three sons, David, John, and Robert. Lillian was blessed with four granddaughters: Patricia Truesdale (Matthew), Jacquelyn Kymer (Brandon), Stephanie Franz (Kevin), and Kara Luce (Ethan); as well as great-grandchildren Gabriela Kymer, Caleb, and Leon Luce. She is preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Stage. She is also survived by her eldest sibling, Norman Farley, living in North East, Pennsylvania, and her younger sibling, Susan Bickford (Robert), living in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Lillian had several nieces and nephews in various locations and a great-nephew, Carson, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed hearing the tales of Carson. His visits always put a smile on her face and a giggle in her heart. She adored him.

Her grandchildren remember her fondly in how she always made them feel at home and loved. They remember being taught the love of reading, the smell of fudge and the love she put into everything she did for them. They enjoyed game nights of Trouble and Parcheesi with Grandma, who always emphasized the importance of honesty. Lillian was loved in life by all she encountered and especially her granddaughters.

We know heaven gained a beautiful and loving angel far too soon.
