She was born September 27, 1945 in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of the late Edwin and Doris Myers Weikert. Her husband Ray C. âBuddyâ Fitz, Jr. died in 2015.
Before her marriage, Linda worked at Mechanicsburg Naval Depot and also Robins Nest Gift Shop in Fairfield. But she spent most of her time raising her family. In her later years she had children in her home for daycare.
Mrs. Fitz is survived by two sons; Steven Fitz and his wife Diane of Fairfield, PA, David Fitz and his wife Carrie of Fairfield, PA, four grandchildren; Elizabeth Bishop and her husband Cody, Brandon Fitz and his wife Megan, Meghan Fitz, Kall Lefever, two great grandchildren; Rylee Lefever, Carter Fitz, two brothers; Larry Weikert of Fairfield, PA, Tony Weikert of Fairfield, PA. Linda was predeceased by a brother, Ron Weikert.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, PA with Pastor John Talcott officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Fairfield Fire Company, 106 Steelman Street, Fairfield, PA 17320 or the Alzheimerâs Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
