She was born June 26, 1939 in Gardners, PA the daughter of the late John and Nora (Bream) Smick. Lois is survived by her husband of 67 years, William Robert Payne.
Mrs. Payne was a member of St. Paulâs Lutheran Church in Biglerville, PA, the Hanover Corvette Club, the Soroptomist Club of Gettysburg, and the Biglerville and Fairfield Amvets. She owned and operated Lois Payneâs Beauty Salon in Biglerville, PA for many years where she also served as a cosmetology instructor for students until her retirement. She always enjoyed her Saturday morning shopping trips with her friends, Donna and Liz. She loved animals, especially dogs, and had a special love for her late Rottweiler, Roxie.
In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by a daughter, Tamara J. Codori and her husband Dr. Gregory Codori of Gettysburg, PA, a son, Todd Payne and his wife Kelly of Biglerville, PA, 5 grandchildren, Tashia Neely (Brian), Nicholas Codori (Brandi), Carrie Meeker (Michael), Benjamin Codori (Lisa) and Stephanie McCullough (Jacob) and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, 10AM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. Interment will immediately follow the service at Biglerville Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 3PM until 5PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325 and the Alzheimerâs Association (alz.org/pa).
