Lorraine S. Wilt, 88, Gettysburg, PA, passed away peacefully while at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
She was born August 14, 1936, in Gettysburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Daisy Currens Sites and is survived by her devoted husband, Carroll J. Wilt.

Mrs. Wilt graduated from Fairfield High School in 1954 and Shippensburg University in 1958, where she received her teaching degree. For over 30 years, she taught elementary school in Fairfield until she retired. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teachers and a longtime member of the Mount Hope United Methodist Church. Raised in Mount Hope, Lorraine always stayed connected to the people and the area. Lorraine and Carroll married in 1965, and she was always by his side until the end. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and always involved in her family’s events.
In addition to her husband, Lorraine will be missed by their son, Eric J. Wilt and his wife, Laura C. Wilt of Hagerstown, MD, and two grandchildren, Sydney Wilt and Carson Wilt. She is survived as well by her sister-in-law Joan Sites, and extended family including Dave and Norman Herring, Chris and Cindy Herring, Charlie and Suzanne Sites, Robert and Amber Sites, and Tom and Valerie Gemmill, and all their loving families. Mrs. Wilt was predeceased by her sisters, Faye Slusser and Nina Herring, her brother-in-law, Kermit Slusser, and her brother, William Sites.
