Louise R. (Kerns) Wantz, 88, of Littlestown, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl R. Wantz; together they shared 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
Born on November 5, 1937, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Kerns and Mildred (Myers) Kerns.
Louise dedicated many years of her working life to the shoe industry, where she was employed by Littonian Shoe, Kessler Shoe, Windsor Shoe, and Jack Tar before her retirement.
She was devoted to her community and proudly served as Past President of the Littlestown VFW Auxiliary and the Alpha Fire Company Auxiliary. Above all, Louise cherished her family. She loved spending time with them and took great pride in watching her family grow through the generations.
Surviving are her three sons, Jay Wantz and his wife, Deb, of Littlestown, Ed Wantz and his wife, Sherry, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Doug Wantz and his wife, Kim, of Littlestown; her daughter, Patty Conover and her husband, Tony, of Hanover; her grandchildren, Chris Conover, Greg Conover, Emily Kress, Kelsey Wantz, Katie Haas, Bethany Brantley, and Andrew Wantz; and nine great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren expected.
She is also survived by her sisters, Dorris Morgret and Janet Mayers, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee Kerns and Paul “Jack” Kerns.
A time to share memories with the family will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, 34 Maple Avenue, Littlestown, PA 17340. Family and friends will also be received on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
Pallbearers will be Chris Conover, Greg Conover, Andy Wantz, Tony Conover, Tim Mayers, and Damon Brantley.
