Lowell R. Pepple, 88, Chambersburg Road, Orrtanna, PA passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at his home.
He was born July 27, 1936 on his family farm in Orrtanna, PA the son of the late Raymond and Katherine Weaver Pepple. Lowell is survived by his wife, Nancy Hackler Pepple.
Lowell was a very active member of Mountain Top Ministries where he served as a greeter on Sundays. He was a 1954 graduate of Gettysburg High School. Following his graduation he began his career as fruit farmer on his family farm until he sold the farm in 2005. He then worked for a time with Schaad Detective Agency. He was an avid hunter. He was a member of the Gettysburg Moose and the Gettysburg Eagles.
In addition to his wife, Lowell is survived by a stepson, Tommy Harris and his wife Brenda of Orrtanna, PA, a stepdaughter, Cindy Kingston of Florida, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, a stepdaughter, a granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Top Ministries, Orrtanna, PA with Rev. Kenneth Reid officiating. Interment will be in Flohr’s Cemetery, Cashtown, PA. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
