Marcella L. Mathis, 18 of New Oxford, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the York Hospital. Born July 26, 2002 in Gettysburg, PA, she is survived by her “Mama Bear”, Melissa Syester and was the daughter of Terrick Ace Mathis of New Oxford, PA and the late Valerie Ann Harper. Marcella graduated from New Oxford High School in 2019, where she was a member of the Track & Field Team. She enjoyed music, coloring, rooting for the Baltimore Ravens, cooking for her family and friends. Marcella had been employed by Fed-Ex in York, PA. In addition to her father, Marcella is survived by her fiancé, Mariah Jackson, step-mother, Michelle Mathis, siblings, Courtney Harper Fries, Aleisha Mathis, Donnell Mathis, Auryana Mathis, Teryah Mathis, Jayden Moore, Terrell Albritton and Matilyn Syester, paternal grandmother, Betty Mae Miller, paternal great grandmother, Betty Blassingame, a maternal grandmother, Dawn Harper, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Mark K. Kearse, officiating. Interment will follow the service in the New Oxford Cemetery. A Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
