Obituary: Marie Jean (Bald) Medcalf

arie Jean (Bald) Medcalf, 95, of Biglerville passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at The Gardens nursing home in Gettysburg, PA. Born in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Charles E. and Ida M. Bald on December 29, 1927, Marie developed an early love of family, music, and learning that she treasured throughout her life. At the age of 18, she met Robert (Bob) Medcalf through the Saint Ann Players, a Baltimore musical performing group. They married two years later and shared over 60 years together. Before children, Marie worked in Baltimore, at C& P Telephone Company, and later at Hutzler Brothers Department Store. Marie was a loving wonderful mother to her four children. She raised them with strong values, faith and encouragement. Marie loved family gatherings and attending everything that involved her children, her eight grandchildren and her 23 great grandchildren. She will live on in the hearts of all who felt her love & loved her in return. A memorial and celebration of her life is being planned for April. Her family thanks everyone who helped lovingly care for her in her final days on earth. Marie is survived by daughters Janet Schroeder (Marty), and Linda Love (Don) and cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bob, her son Bob Jr., daughter Karen, sister Ida and great granddaughter Lauren Faith Medcalf. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Biglerville
