Marge was raised on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and worked at Parker Pen Company after graduating from high school. In 1943, Marge enlisted in the US Navy WAVES during WWII as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate assembling airplane instrument gauges. Marge later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin and retired from United Airlines.

Marge’s home was nestled on the side of Liberty Mountain, and when she wasn’t skiing the slopes, she could be found on the golf course up until she was 90 years old. Marge loved to travel the world, but at home, she enjoyed sitting on her deck watching the birds and knitting. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Gettysburg Hospital.

Marge will be dearly missed by her devoted friend and guardian, Shelley Mehl, of Fairfield, PA, and the Mehl family: John, Emma, Johnny, Ava, and Kathryn Mehl. Shelley would like to recognize the faithful service of the late Mike Paul of Fairfield; the loving nursing care of Susan Rohrer, Jennifer Hartley, and Amy Mullis; and the friendship of Mollie and the late Carroll Cool of Mont Alto, Don and Toni Greene of Fairfield, and Chuck Earley of Gettysburg. Marge was predeceased by her husband, Ernest V. Cooke, and is survived by her niece, Kristin Weatherson of Fresno, CA. Funeral Services will be private.
