Obituary: Martin Richard \”Rick\” Rhodes

Martin Richard \”Rick\” Rhodes, 78, of Thurmont, MD died on December 14, 2024 after an 8 year battle with cancer.Born on November 11, 1946 in Westernport, MD. He was the son of Martin Ellsworth Rhodes and Lola Dorothea Uhl. He served in the US Navy from 1962-1966. Afterwards he did construction work until he retired in 2007.He was a DEVOTED Baltimore Ravens fan. If it was football season, everyone knew not to bother him on gamedays. But above all else he was a loving father and pappy.He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Frank Martin and his nephew, Richard Martin.Rick is survived by his daughter, Amanda Rhodes and her boyfriend Ray Thiele; his sister, Carole Martin; three grandchildren, Autumn Little, Clark Lasher and Quinn Murdorf; and his nephew, Robert Martin and wife Susan.Services are private.A celebration of life will be held next football season where his family will go to a Ravens game in his memory.In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory can be made to the Baltimore Ravens, Ray Lewis Foundation Power52.
