Mary was born March 24, 1929 in Westminster, MD the daughter of the late Howard Lester Petry and Lillie May Dutterer Petry. Her beloved husband, William Nunemaker died in 1988.
Mrs. Nunemaker was a member of Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, PA. She was a woman of strong faith in Jesus as her Savior, and was involved with Bible Adventure and Camp Joyel, an organization that teaches the Bible to young people. Early on she worked in various factories in Littlestown and Westminster. She enjoyed homemaking, quilting and crochet.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Joann Zychal and her husband Daniel of Fayetteville, PA, 5 grandchildren; Linda Asper, Ben Smyers, Abigail Zychal, Hannah Zychal, Luke Zychal, 3 great grandchildren; Amy Russell, Rebecca Martin, Katie Wagner and 3 great great grandchildren: Sydney Russell, Addyson Wagner and Wyatt Russell. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Smyers.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with her pastor, Rev. Jim Bolich officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
