Mary E. Bowman, 87, of Littlestown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, July 4, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth “Smiley” Bowman, who passed away on March 5, 1989.
Born May 8, 1938 in Littlestown, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Boose) Shrader.
Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and enjoyed watching her grandchildren. She worked at Littonian Shoe Company, Hadco Lighting, and Boyd’s Bears. Mrs. Bowman was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and served on the Bingo committee.
She is survived by her children, Joyce McIntyre (William), McSherrystown, Judith McIntyre (James), New Oxford, Michael Bowman (Deb Riggleman), East Berlin, Jeffrey Bowman, Littlestown, Janet Reynolds (Scott), Hanover, Julie Kerley, McSherrystown, Jennifer Heller (Blake), Littlestown, Joseph Bowman (Tara), Gettysburg and Jodi Stonesifer (Keith Adam), Bonneauville; brother, Francis Shrader, Boiling Springs; grandchildren, William McIntyre, III, Heather Zortman, Jarred McIntyre, Sonya Marrero, Justin Bowman, Derrick Bowman, Bradley Bowman, Kendra Bowman, McKenzie Fike, Loni Kress, Brooke Conigliaro, Todd Reynolds, Erin Kerley, Amber Moore, McKenna Kerley, Devin Heller, Lauren Hartlaub, Logan Heller, Amaya Fuhrman, Kenley Bowman, Owen Stonesifer and Arianna Stonesifer and great grandchildren, Josie, Dezman, Campbell, Cody, Eli, Henry, Christina, Keira, Dedrick, Landon, Hudson, Willow, Colten, Nolan, Joey, Eilee, Emerson, Holden, Dalton, Liam, Isla, Eliana, Allie and Selena.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Stair; brothers, Joseph and Mark Shrader; and son-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Kerley.
A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 South Queen St., Littlestown with Rev. C. Anthony Miller, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Littlestown. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarred McIntyre, Justin Bowman, Derrick Bowman, Devin Heller, Logan Heller, Todd Reynolds, and Owen Stonesifer.
