Mary E. Stover, age 95 of New Oxford, passed away on November 28, 2025, at Cross Keys Village. She was born April 7, 1930, in Manchester, PA, to the late Paul and Florence (Newcomer) Hoover. Mary was widowed by her husband, Rev. Jacob F. Stover. Mary attended Bermudian Covenant Brethren Church in Dover and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, gardening, and bird watching.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol McKinley and husband, Larry of Thomasville; son, Chris Stover and wife, Barbara of Broadway, VA; daughter-in-law, Tamara Stover of New Oxford; six grandchildren, Aaron & wife, Natalie, Brian & wife, Stephanie, Hunter & wife, Jacqueline, Tanner & wife, Jessica, Jacob & wife, Kelli and Sally & husband, Jimmy and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret “May” Poff of York and Pauline Lenz of Mt. Wolf. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. At Mary’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Bermudian Covenant Brethren Church, 279 Bermudian Church Road, Dover, PA 17316. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate the service.
