Mary Louise Higgins, 76, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, peacefully entered the gates to her heavenly home on July 20, 2026.
She was born on April 4, 1950, in Enola, Pennsylvania to her parents, Jean Brewbaker (Mother) and Lester Muncher (Father). She graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1968.
Her most important and enjoyable job was being a dedicated babysitter to her beloved grandchildren Faith, Grace, and Corban Barnes.
She married the love of her life, William Higgins, in 2001, and they shared their beloved dogs, Sampson, Samantha, April, Sophie Jean, and their grand-dog, Joepa. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her children, Adam Bowers, Angela Barnes, and son-in-law, Rick Barnes.
She loved nothing more than watching her Penn State Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles. Her favorite times of year were when the Olympics came around, and she never missed an event. Her love for flamingos, purple hair, and anything patriotic is something her family will cherish forever. Her unique laugh brought light to every room she entered. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now healed and in the arms of Jesus.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Fishel and husband William; brother, Harvey Brewbaker and wife Linda; brother Dennis Rummel and wife Joyce; her husband, William Higgins; children, Adam Bowers (son), Angela Barnes (daughter), and Rick Barnes (son-in-law); and grandchildren, Faith, Grace, and Corban Barnes. She is also survived by her beloved friends whom she cherished dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jean Brewbaker and Lester Muncher; sister, Kate Rensel; brother, Stan Walker; sister, Sharon Wert; and stepsister, Ida Shaner.
A private family viewing was held in lieu of a service.
While her family’s grief is ever present, they are so thankful for the time they got to spend with her. She was able to be present for so many milestones, and her family takes comfort in knowing she has the best seat to watch all of their future accomplishments. It is those memories and the promise of seeing her again one day in Heaven that will be their comfort.
