Norma June Kumerow, age 96 of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 29, 2025.
Born Norma June Kamin on May 4, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Erwin and Vera (Neetz) Kamin.

Norma married the love of her life, Louis Edward Kumerow on May 15, 1948 enjoying 47 years of wedded harmony until his death in 1996. They established a loving home in Royal Oak, Michigan where they raised three daughters. They explored the United States; camping extensively throughout their marriage with family and friends. In retirement, they travelled abroad. She was a founding member of Prince of Glory Lutheran Church in Madison Heights, Michigan. At the time of her passing, Norma was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church, Gettysburg, PA. An avid, well-read woman, Norma excelled as a proofreader/supervisor at Parish Publishing, in Michigan. She and her husband retired to Gettysburg in 1986 where she enjoyed quilting, basket weaving, square dancing with her husband, doting on her grandsons, shopping with her daughters and playing the slots at various casinos. In between these activities, she would take many walks with her dogs, whom she loved. She will be missed by her sweet puppy, Poppy.
Norma is survived by daughters Lisa Welty (Kevin), Erika L. Onsager of Chambersburg, PA, Karla Kumerow Swinn (Carl) of Gettysburg, PA, grandsons Tyler K. Swinn of Gettysburg, PA and Caleb J. Swinn (partner Rebecca Beers) of Gettysburg, PA, niece Leslylee (Bill) Kelledes of Green Valley, AZ and nephew Kevin (Kate) Laundroche of Louisville, KY.
Norma was predeceased by her devoted husband, Lou, her parents Vera and Erwin Kamin, sisters Betty LaBuda and Marilyn Laundroche and nephew K. Matthew Laundroche.
Norma will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA in the future.
Throughout the last year of her life, so many people have shown great love and compassion in caring for Norma as she navigated several medical challenges. Her family is forever grateful for their devotion to her.
