eter W. Lindquist, age 77, of Gettysburg, PA passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Born September 14, 1946 in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Rudolph G. & Rhea (Phelan) Lindquist. Peter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Marie (Hill) Lindquist. He was a graduate of Drake University serving in the schoolâs USAF ROTC Program. Peter was a 28 year veteran of the USAF retiring with the rank of Colonel. Following his military career, he worked with the USAF Memorial Foundation in Washington, DC for 16 years, retiring in 2013 as managing director. Peter was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Gettysburg and enjoyed volunteering his time at the Gettysburg Soup Kitchen. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by a son, Matthew Brice Lindquist and his wife Kimberly of Bowie, Maryland. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Peter will be held at the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church at a future date in early 2024. A graveside service and interment with full military honors will be held in the spring of 2024 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, 20 West High St. Gettysburg, PA 17325 or Gettysburg Soup Kitchen, P. O. Box 3445, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
