Obituary: Reba Ann Shenk

Reba Ann Shenk, 71, of Utica, OH, and formerly of Shippensburg, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 30, 2026, following a brief illness.

Reba was born on April 22, 1955, in Ontario, Canada, to Harold and Edna (Shantz) Shenk. She attended Melita Fellowship Church of Utica, Ohio. She moved from Pennsylvania to Utica, where she was being cared for in her home by her niece and husband, Carolyn and Daniel Miller, for the last two years. Her sister Elizabeth of Pennsylvania was there to help care for her the last week of her life.

She was a school teacher and also spent many years on the farm with her brother Stanley, caring for her parents and her sister Miriam. She also enjoyed cooking, which included working in the kitchen at a local restaurant, as well as catering.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as brothers Stanley and Paul, a sister Miriam, and sisters-in-law Mabel and Rachel.

She is survived by her brothers Nathan (Betty), Wilmer (Mary Kate), Dwight (Ellen), David, Eldon (Esther), and a sister, Elizabeth (Ammon) Weaver. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, as well as close friends, with whom she loved to spend time.

A viewing (5:30-6:30) and memorial service (7 pm) will be held at Melita Fellowship Church in Utica, Ohio, on Sunday, May 31st. The viewings (2-4 and 6-8) on Wednesday, June 3rd, and the funeral (Thursday, June 4th, 10 am) will be held at Rowe Mennonite Church in Shippensburg, PA, with Alan Byler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowe Mennonite Church Cemetery.
