Obituary: Rebecca Gifford Zepp

Rebecca Gifford Zepp, 86, most recently of Brighton, Massachusetts, passed away April 15, 2026, after a long illness.

She was born February 5, 1940, in Greensburg and was raised in Camp Hill, the daughter of the late Joseph L. Gifford and Sara Ellen (Delozier) Gifford. She was a graduate of Camp Hill High School.

Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Kindergarten Education and her Master of Education in Child Development from Pennsylvania State University. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She also worked as a preschool teacher, loved by her students and colleagues alike.

Prior to moving to Massachusetts in 2023 to be closer to family, she resided at Cross Keys Village, New Oxford, and was a longtime member of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church.

She was predeceased in 2016 by her husband of nearly 53 years, Glenn Arthur Zepp.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Larson, David Zepp (Sabine), and Laura Zepp (David Tomblin); her grandchildren, Tyler Zepp (Shannon), Zoe Zepp (Ches), Evelyn Tomblin, Sam Tomblin, and Emil Larson; her sister, Margaret McBride; her sister-in-law, Martha Zepp; and several nephews.

Burial will be private. A reception for her friends and neighbors will be held at the Campus Inn, Cross Keys Village, New Oxford, on Saturday, May 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yale School of Medicine in support of avascular necrosis research (online at yaleschoolofmedicine.donordrive.com, search “In Memory of Rebecca Zepp”), or to Gettysburg Presbyterian Church.
