Richard J. Koontz, 73, of Gettysburg, PA, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his home in Gettysburg.

Born July 22, 1952, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Clarence and Irene (Koontz) Moyer.

Richard is survived by his three siblings, Dale Koontz of Gettysburg, Donald Koontz of Gettysburg, Rita Carmack of Mercersburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Strang Cemetery, South Mountain, PA.
