Richard M. Geiling, Jr., 78, of Boiling Springs, PA, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on January 6, 1947, to the late Richard M. and Grace Louise (Gordon) Geiling, Sr., of Mechanicsburg.
Rick was a 1966 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School District. Rick was a PROUD Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Army, and received many accomplishments. After Rick’s honorable discharge, he built homes for 15 plus years and then retired from the Army Depot with 25 plus years of employment. Rick loved his family, his cat Cobb, motorcycles, fishing, and reading. He had a wealth of knowledge and would happily share it with his family and friends. Rick was a member of the American Legion Post 674 in Mt. Holly Springs and VFW Post 8851 in Boiling Springs.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Richard M. III (Jody), John (Renee), and Tim (Christina) Geiling; five grandchildren, Briana, Jake, Dakota, Sam, and BreeAna Geiling; two great-grandchildren, Desmond and DJ Geiling; brother, James Geiling (Jeanne); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy (Diehl), and granddaughter, Emma Geiling.
Rick’s life and loss will leave a lasting impact on all; there could be no better man. In one last selfless act on earth to enhance and save lives, Rick was a bone and skin donor through the Gift of Life Donor Program.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave, Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services and burial will take place in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, October 30th, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
