Born January 18, 1950 in Gettysburg he was the son of the late Ray and Geraldine (Kimple) Deardorff. He was the husband of Debra I. (Taylor) Deardorff of Orrtanna to whom he was married to for 50 years.
Mr. Deardorff was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Orrtanna. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #14035, the American Legion Post #202 in Gettysburg, the Catholic War Veterans in Bonneauvillle, the Fairfield Amvets, the 40 & 8 Club, and the Veterans of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his son, Paul Deardorff and his wife Rita, of Orrtanna, four grandchildren, Kristen DiDio and her husband Camden, Zachary Deardorff, Draven Eyer, Dakota Eyer, a great grandson, Lucca DiDio, and three siblings, Jeanne Weber, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Margaret Wyatt, of Capon Bridge, WV, and Mary Eichelberger, of Harrisburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Deardorff, and three siblings, Joanne Esham, James Deardorff, and Marie Trimmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Rd., Orrtanna, PA with Rev. Dominic M. DiBicarro Celebrant.
