Richard U. Walker, Sr., 79 of Orrtanna, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, after a long illness. Born August 7, 1945, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Adolphus U. & Esther (Dellinger) Walker. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Henrietta J. (Staub) Walker. He was an active member of St. Paul The Pines Lutheran Church in New Oxford, PA serving as the church treasurer for many years and helping oversee the church cemetery. Richard was excellent at sport shooting, was an avid hunter, and loved to ride his motorcycle. Family was the most important thing in his life, his wife, children, but most of all were his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Henrietta, Richard is survived by a son, Richard U. Walker, II of Orrtanna, a daughter, Coree L. Sharrah (Mark) of East Berlin, PA, five grandchildren, Dustin, Chris, Jen, Bradley and Jarod, six great grandchildren, Alyssa, Tylor, Mikayla, Aly, Evan and Sadie, a brother, John Walker of Millsboro, DE and three sisters, Susan Mosser and Sally Weikert both of Gettysburg and Kimberly Smith of New Oxford, PA. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with a close family friend, Rev. Suzanne Elliott, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul The Pines Cemetery. A Viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Monahan Funeral Home.
