ichard Vance Coleman, 95 of Fayetteville, PA passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at his home. Born in Cumberland, Maryland on August 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Melvin V. & Helen (Reuschel) Coleman. Richard was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice L. Coleman, who died in 2008. He was a 1949 graduate of Gettysburg High School, a founding member of Memorial Baptist Church in Gettysburg and a 40 year member of the Adams County Fish & Game Association. Richard had been employed by BMY Manufacturing of York, PA for 35 years. He is survived by two children, Bonnie C. Chapman (Melvin) of Fairfield, PA and Richard A. âRickâ Coleman (Lisa) of East Berlin, PA, five grandchildren, D. Shawn Arnett, Scott A. Arnett, Stephanie Coleman Welty, Derek R. Coleman and Nicholas J. Weaver, 13 great grandchildren, a brother, John Coleman (Eileen) of Gettysburg, a sister-in-law, Janet Coleman of Gettysburg, a number of nieces and nephews and his extended family, Judy Baker of Waynesboro, PA and Bob Smith of Baltimore, MD. Richard was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Hess and Betty Kriel and two brothers, George and William Coleman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Memorial Baptist Church, 1095 Biglerville Rd., Gettysburg with Rev. Jeff Sours, officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA on Monday at 1:00 PM. A Viewing will take place on Monday at the church from 9:00-10:30 AM.
