He was born June 22, 1952 in Alexandria, VA the son of the late Carl Lynn and Josephine Goodson Spalding. Bob is survived by his wife Karen Breighner Spalding.
Until his retirement, Bob was Vice President of American Property Construction Company in Alexandria, VA. He was a project manager on various construction projects that included, government buildings, malls and hospitals. Bob enjoyed fishing, sharpshooting and drag racing. In his younger days he sang in a rock band. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two daughters; Jennifer Alice Kassner and her husband Julian of Longwood, FL, Katelyn Jo âKatie Joâ Gaumer and her husband Michael Beau of Berryville, VA, a step-daughter, Amy Lynne Conover and her husband Jason of Front Royal, VA, seven beloved grandchildren; Zachary Kassner, Katie Kassner, Jackson Kassner, Austin Corlay Hickman, Kelsi Lynne Lawson and Ava Dawn Gaumer, a brother Ernie Lee Spalding of Florida and a sister, Linda Sue Pendleton and her husband Steve of Tennessee. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Ann Krehbiel. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Bobâs Life will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 23rd from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. A Celebration of Life will also take place on June 22, 2024 from 12pm to 3pm at the Bluemont Community Center, 33846 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont, VA 20135.
