Robert Fishter (May 15, 1948 – October 27, 2020)
Robert Fishter Jr. age 72, passed away at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center on October 27, 2020. He was the loving husband of Eileen (Miller) Fishter; together they shared 50 years of marriage in April.
Robert was born on May 15, 1948 and was the son of the late Beatrice (Bohl) and Robert Fishter Sr. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He spent most of his life working in construction and excelled in many skilled trades. Robert made sure that those closest to him knew how much he cared for them by sharing his knowledge, time, and talents; if you were in his circle, you knew you were loved. He enjoyed hiking and camping as a time to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and to make memories with family. He and his wife attended Church of the Open Door and he was proud to be a Marine for life.
In addition to his wife Eileen, Robert is survived by his children Robert Fishter III and wife Apryll, Brenda L. Andersen and husband Christopher, James K. Fishter and wife Katey, and Katherine G. Camarro and husband Robert; his grandchildren Clayton, Kaitlyn, Holly, and William Fishter; Michael, Matthew, and Courtney Andersen; and Clarissa, Joshua, Jillian, Eva, and Chevy Camarro; his mother-in-law Dorothy Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lyle and William; and his sister Margaret “Peggy”.
A funeral service in celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Sunday at 3:30 at Church of the Open Door, 4075 E. Market St. York PA 17402, with Robert Fishter III officiating and military honors being provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 3:00-3:30 at the church. The family services are being held under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. of East York.
