Robert H. Sanders, 80, of Gettysburg, PA, died Monday, July 27, 2026, at York Hospital.

Born July 29, 1945, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Helen K. (Keiser) Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Army. He worked for a time at Giant Foods but then became an owner of his own Pepperidge Farm franchise. He was an avid sports fan, following Penn St. football and all the Philadelphia sports teams. He was a 1963 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and was a supporter of them for many years since his graduation.

Robert is survived by his two sisters, Mary Elaine Kucs, of Waynesboro, VA, Beverly S. Kress, of Gettysburg, PA, his three brothers, Dale J. Sanders, of Silver Spring, MD, Francis W. Sanders, of Hanover, PA, Roland R. Sanders, of York, PA, and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, William B. Sanders and Wanda T. Sanders.

Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial with full military honors will follow immediately after at Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
