Ruth A. Shope, 98, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the Mercy House of Chambersburg. She was born on October 26, 1927, to the late Wilson and Pearl (Lyons) Shope.

Following Ruth’s graduation from High School, she went on to work in Harrisburg at a shoe factory until her mother became ill. At that time, she moved back to the family farm to help care for her parents.

Surviving are her nephews, Dale and Robert Weller. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Jane (Shope) Weller.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be held privately in Saint Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Loysville, PA. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
