Obituary: S. Jeanette Jenkins

S. Jeanette Jenkins, 85, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy shaped by faith, service, and unconditional love. She was born on March 30, 1940, in TN to the late William and Mary (Lane) Walton.

As a church planter, she has served as a pastor for over 30 years, guiding others with a steady heart and a deep passion for the Lord. Her life was dedicated to lifting people up, comforting them, and pointing them toward hope.

Jeanette never limited her compassion to a single role. She was a school bus driver for 45 years as well as a realtor for 17 years, helping families find a place to call home.

Her hands were rarely still. Jeanette was an amazing sewer and seamstress, creating beauty stitch by stitch. She loved tending to her flowers and watching them grow.

Her greatest calling, though, was the love she gave as a mother, foster mother, and spiritual mother to many. Her home and heart were always open, including fostering pets.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Butch, Jenny, Jon (Becki); sons-in-law, Mike and John; grandchildren, Jesse, Sarah, Kacey, Andrew, Jonathan, Joshua and Cora and a sister, Carol Miller. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kim, and grandson, DJ.

Her life was a testament to service, compassion, and devotion. Those who knew her will remember her warrior spirit, never giving up, her boundless care for others, and the countless ways she made the world better by being here. We long for the day that we will once again see her.
