Shelley was a devoted wife, mother, and teacher who approached life with a warrior’s heart and a soul filled with magic. For seven years, she fought with incredible bravery to secure more time for what she loved most: her family and friends. Whether she was dancing and singing with her children, finding joy in a quiet hike, immersing herself in a great book, or leading high-energy “Caree-oke” sessions, Shelley lived by the belief that life is measured by the moments that take your breath away.

As a natural “North Star” for those around her, she poured 110% of herself into every role. She balanced a grounded, level head with a playful spirit, reminding everyone that even when a story doesn’t follow the planned ending, we have the power to make every chapter beautiful.

Shelley is survived by her loving husband, Jacob Kump; their two children, Paxton and Penelope Kump; her mother, Dorothy (Bowers) Bigham; her father and step-mother, James and Barbary Bigham; and her step-siblings, Ben Allen and Carrie Slaughter.

Funeral services for Shelley will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday evening, February 2, 2026, at the funeral home, as well as an hour before the services on Tuesday morning, prior to the services. • This is so sad. My daughter was a friend of Shelly. Shelly was very special. My sympathy is with all who are dealing with the profound pain of her passing.
