Born July 21, 1948 to the late Audrey McDonald in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was the mother of Gina LeVan (Matt LeVan), Rodney Welch, Maurice McDonald, and preceded in death by her son, Gary Welch. Sister to Jean Williams and Paulette Watkins and preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Lewis. Grandmother of Demetria LeVan, Maurice McDonald, Jr., Marisa Lara, and followed by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Shirley began her nursing career in Harvey, Illinois, caring for babies with special needs at Children Haven Habilitation Center. She then provided Home Health Care for many years until she retired.
For those of you who knew my mother (Shirley) enjoyed her honesty, quick wit, and sense of humor.
