Shirley A. Walde, age 90 of Gettysburg, passed away October 13, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 28, 1934, in Biglerville, a daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Slaybaugh) Watson. Shirley was widowed by her husband, Joseph W. Walde in 2022.
Shirley worked until having children, and then she was a stay-at-home mom, raising her children until her husband opened up their business of Walde‘s motor repair, with which she helped. She loved working in the shop alongside her husband. Shirley also loved reading and traveling with Joe.
She is survived by her children, Diana Gulden and husband, David of Gettysburg, Mark Walde and wife, Belinda (Hall) of Biglerville, Jody Walde-Stine and husband, George C. Stine Jr. of Biglerville and Nick Walde and significant other, Rebecca Hansford of Gettysburg; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elaine (Keller) Walde of Gettysburg and sister-in-law, Virginia Walde of Biglerville.
Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Greg Walde; granddaughter, Jordan Walde; and brother, Robert Watson.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. At Shirley’s request, all services will be private at the convenience of the family.
