Shirley Ann (Heller) Smith, age 89 of Gettysburg, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born in Gardners on August 16, 1935, to the late Fred and Clara (Gardner) Heller. She resided in York Springs for many years with her husband, Sherril.
She was a teacher for the Northern York County School District, where she taught kindergarten for many years. She was the organist at Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church. Shirley loved to quilt, knit, and read.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Heikenfeld and husband, Jeff of Alma, WV; son, John Smith and fiancé, Kacy Westover of Gettysburg; 5 grandchildren, Bella Smith of Gettysburg, Tuff Smith of Gettysburg, Benjamin Heikenfeld and his wife, Jennifer of Harrisburg, Victoria Heikenfeld of Sarasota, FL and Lauren Westover of Shippensburg.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Service of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church, 1136 Mountain Road, York Springs, PA, with Rev. Rosemary Wheeler Backer presiding.
