She was born October 12, 1934 in Gettysburg, PA. Shirley was raised by her mother, Mary Rudisill and her grandparents, Andy and Annie Flickinger. Shirley is survived by her husband of 69 years, C. William DeHaas.
Mrs. DeHaas was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Biglerville High School. For many years she was employed at G.C. Murphyâs on Baltimore Street in Gettysburg. Later she worked for Strickland Enterprises. Shirley was a world class cook, famously known for her Apple Pies. Shirley always immensely enjoyed family gatherings, different family games and word puzzles.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by a son, John DeHaas and his wife Carolyn of York, PA, two daughters; Marsha Boehner of Gettysburg, PA and Kristina DeHaas of Gettysburg, PA, five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Bayer, and two brothers; Stanley Kint and Sterling Kint.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Andrew Geib officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
