Shirley M. Klinefelter, 89, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Paramount Senior Living.
She was born May 29, 1936, in Bonneauville, PA, the daughter of the late Frantz and Mabel Good Martin. Shirley’s husband, Leroy L. Klinefelter, Jr., died on October 22, 2025.
Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. For many years, she was a bookkeeper at Grant’s Store on Chambersburg Street in Gettysburg and later at W. E. Bittinger Company in Hanover, PA. Following that, she helped at Strausbaugh’s Market on the York Road. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, her garden, and puzzles.
Mrs. Klinefelter is survived by five children; Marie C. Milhimes of Gettysburg, PA, Linda L. Madison and her husband Ronald of Spring Grove, PA, James F. Klinefelter of Gettysburg, PA, Charles K. Klinefelter and his wife Laura of Gettysburg, PA, Keith A. Klinefelter of Gettysburg, PA, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Joyce Speelman, Wilbur Martin, Donald Martin, Barbara Deardorff, and Patricia Redding. Shirley was predeceased by a son, Michael L. Klinefelter, and a grandson, Claude D. Milhimes.
A Celebration of Shirley’s and Leroy’s life will take place on Friday, February 20, 202,6 at 2:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
