Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Miller; by his son, Charles Brian Yaeger and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Beth) Yaeger, and two grandchildren, Brayden Yaeger and Bailey Yaeger, of Manchester, Maryland; by his brothers, Harry Miller Jr. of Tampa, Florida and Richard Miller of Woodstock, Maryland.
He also leaves behind his nephews and nieces, Cheri Miller, Eric Miller, Mandy Miller Matthews, Ron Miller, Scott Miller, and Teresa Miller.
Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Miller.
Born on April 22, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Miller, Steve grew up in Adelphi, Maryland. He worked as a computer programmer and later as a contractor building new homes in Maryland.
Steve met his wife, Donna, in 1979 in Ocean City, and for 45 years, they were inseparable in love and adventure. He was famous for leaving notes around the house for himself, but especially for Donna, telling her â and everyone who read them â that he loved her.
An avid student of history, especially the Gray and the Blue, Steve loved travel, sports, reading, and watching wildlife around him, especially the squirrels who visited his back porch waiting for their daily peanuts from him.
Steve eagerly accepted his cherished roll of Pop-Pop, playing games with his grandchildren, or laughing with them at their latest jokes and stories. Devoted to his family and friends, Steve enjoyed spending time with them, picking crabs, eating ribs and chicken wings as they caught up on current events.
His smile was the first thing you saw when he entered the room. As a friend recently reminisced, âSteve was pure joy. His smile filled the room, and when he talked to you, his warm, friendly and fun personality made you feel like you were the only person in that room.â
The Miller family will hold a celebration of life for Stephen Lee Miller in the Fall of 2024 for friends and family. For more information on this service, please contact Brian Yaeger.
