Obituary: Stephen O. Miller

Stephen Otto Miller, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at home. He was born on March 25, 1961, in Gettysburg, PA, to Rev. Carl and Nancy (Osborne) Miller of Bellefonte, PA.

Steve is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nina Amey Miller of Gettysburg.

He graduated from Bellefonte High School, class of 1979, where he lettered in Track and Cross Country and played on the tennis and football teams.

In 1984, Steve graduated from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH, with a B. A major in History, with a minor in Political Science. Steve competed on the Cross Country team and was a Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity-Gamma Zeta Chapter member.

After graduating from college, he became certified as a Paralegal and Financial Planner, which was his passion. His career took him to many Colleges and Universities: Skidmore College, Johns Hopkins University, Drexel University, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Gettysburg College.

Many considered him a scholar of history, especially World History. Moving to Gettysburg was a dream because of his love of history. He & Nina loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. Steve will be missed by his family, friends and especially his wife Nina, his partner in crime.

In addition to his wife and parents, Steve is survived by four brothers: Michael C. Miller and his wife Lori of Bellefonte, PA, Peter H. Miller and his wife Amy of Alexandria, VA, Benjamin E. Miller and his wife Debra of Kane, PA and Thaddeus L. Miller of Guam, seven nephews, five nieces and two great nieces.
