Obituary: Thomas Alfred Winfrey



Thomas Alfred Winfrey, 77, of Medina, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

He was born in Newark, New York on April 2, 1946 to the late Alfred George Winfrey and Gormelia (McCleod) Winfrey.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Lenore (Kath) Winfrey, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer L. Musson and her husband, Robert, and his three granddaughters, Anastasia, Alexandra, and Athena Musson.

Thomas went to High School in Newark, New York and after graduating went to Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY and went on to graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Thomas practiced as a Chiropractor for 30 years in Indiana. Thomas spent many years as a member of the Freemasons. His love of history and civil war enthusiasm led him to become a Licensed Battlefield Tour Guide in Gettysburg, PA which he did for nearly 20 years. Thomas had a passion for collecting civil war artifacts and was known in the community for his esteemed collection. He was also a lifelong animal lover that would frequently take in stray animals that needed a home and someone to care for them.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA at 11am. A visitation period will precede the service at the funeral home beginning at 10am where the family will receive friends. Interment will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg.
